I had the privilege of helping friend and talented fellow photographer, Richard Mather, with a wedding held at The Monastery, Gorton in Manchester. I love shooting weddings, even it means being a 2nd shooter at a wedding (photography term, nothing to do with guns!)…this one was no exception. The venue is perfect for hosting a wedding, a huge almost cathedral like building that has had a massive multi-million pound make over. We were well looked after by the staff at The Monastery who made sure we to felt welcome.
When Richard asked me to help 2nd shoot at The Monastery I immediately checked out the venue website and the weather (something you check regularly as a wedding photographer). It was forecast rain, rain and you guessed it rain! But my sun dance the day before seemed to work as the rain held off and we actually had sunshine! In-conjunction with the weather the days events ran flawlessly. A wedding with two cultures, English and Nigerian, made for a beautiful wedding to photograph, the colours, food, superb Nigerian music and dancing made for a great day where everyone had a blast!
Enough of me reminissing about the day, here are a few of the images……
